Custom Paint Studio

Special Lacquer Colors:
These lacquer paints are formulated using DuPont paints, and were specially-mixed by Mark S. Gustavson. Each bottle of lacquer is unthinned. These lacquer colors are in very limited supply, and once the supply are sold, no more colors can be mixed.

We will also offer a complete polishing kit, especially formulated for lacquer paints.

Polishing Kit:

This kit offers the user professional-quality real-world custom body shop supplies to the advanced model car painter. Supplies are provided in a box with instructions. MSDS supplied.

Sandpapers: One sheet each of 1200, 1500, 2000, 3000 wet ‘n dry papers (all 9x5.5")

Tack Rag: One “clear coat” (non-beeswax) tack rag.

Polishes: Two fluid ounce bottles each of Finesse It, Meguiar’s M-7, and Meguiar’s #26 Hi-Tech Wax

Polishing Cloths: Three DuPont Sonata polishing cloths.

Deep Burnt Cinnamon Metallic Pearl Lacquer. (Clear coat application only)

This specially-mixed lacquer color was used on Mark S. Gustavson’s restyled/custom 2002 Thunderbird that appeared in the August 2002 issue of Scale Auto. Custom Styling Studio strongly recommends using DuPont 380S clear lacquer as a top coat. Note: This lacquer paint can only be shipped by Ground UPS/Fedex – modest shipping surcharge applies. Light Metallic BlueLacquer (Clear coat application only)

This specially-mixed lacquer color was used on Mark S. Gustavson’s custom 1960 Chevy that appeared in Car Modeler 2001. Provided in 2 fluid ounce bottles that will need to be thinned with lacquer thinner for spraying. Custom Styling Studio strongly recommends using DuPont 380S clear lacquer as a top coat. Lime Gold “High Metallic”Lacquer (Clear coat application only)

A gold and light green mica “pearl” lacquer. This color closely approximates (but does not match) the lime gold on the pre-crash 1958 version of the Murray Dream Truck, but with intensive mica pearl highlights. Eurosoft-brand “Glaze Coat”

We can supply a 30 fluid-ounce container, with hardener, but we do not normally stock this product. Note that this product can only be sent via ground UPS or FedEx, and requires a shipping surcharge due to its weight. Please note that this polyester putty is available only on special order and will require an extra week of delivery time.

Sandpapers: These sandpapers are the same as used by professional custom auto painters.
